First day to invest on NISA 2021?

Post by jcherni »

Hello everyone.

This is my first end of year since I started investing.
I'm now rebalancing my portfolio, selling out all the (quite expensive) non-index funds I bought when I knew nothing about investments (i.e. before finding this site).

Luckily I have already maxed out my NISA 2020, so the results of the rebalancing, together with most of my winter bonus, will go towards NISA 2021.

Since I will have all the money for investment in hands by next week, I want to invest it as soon as possible.
(just to be all done)

I would like to confirm:
If the 受渡日 of the funds I buy fall within 2020 (up to 12/30?), then these would go to NISA 2020 (well, in my case, they would fall on 特定口座 because my NISA 2020 is maxed out).
However, if the 受渡日 fall on 2021 (mathematically speaking, from 12/31, but I believe the first 営業日 is 1/4), then it would go to my NISA 2021, is that correct?

So basically, if I want to buy eMaxis Slim (if I order until 3pm, then it comes in 2 business days) for my NISA 2021, I need to order it on or after Dec 29th, is that correct?

The 受渡日 needs to be in 2021. Funds usually take a week to 10 days from ordering to delivery so you can order from the end of December.

Who is your broker? If you google ◯◯証券 2021 NISA, you should get the information you need.

Here is the page for Rakuten: https://www.rakuten-sec.co.jp/web/info/ ... tml#skip06

According to them, you can order after 15:10 on December 23rd for funds for your 2021 NISA (that's for funds that take 6 working days to deliver). A good way to check is to see if your 2021 NISA show up as available when you come to order.

Edit: If the 受渡日 is due to fall on 12/31, then the funds would be delivered on 1/4. Source: https://www.rakuten-sec.co.jp/web/info/ ... tml#skip01

SBI証券 2021 NISA -> As Fools_Gold said you just need to Google that Phrase.

First Result -> https://www.sbisec.co.jp/ETGate/?_Contr ... 27_03.html

As you can see it depends on how long it takes your fund to be delivered.

As a general rule, any trust after Dec. 26th will be delivered in 2021.
