Re: Interesting article about FIRE
Interesting indeed (and long ). Personally I am more interested in barista FIRE (so some part-time or freelance work is enough to pay the bills). Might have a chance to try it out after the end of next year when my contract ends...

Re: Interesting article about FIRE
I would disagree with the article's characterization of market movements this past spring (and on up to now) being somehow worse than 2008-9 and/or 1999-2003. Tho they don't seem to think so, those earlier periods would have been a better "test" of the author's financial plan than 2020.
Also, the first few sentences in the article...?

That's a direct quote. Someone is in serious need of an editor. My continuing reaction there is "huh, what are you talking about?" Like I might've missed the first page of the article, or maybe mistakenly scrolled by and missed where that got explained/introduced.A couple of months ago, someone asked on Reddit about how our experience these few months living in financial independence.
He was also curious if our friends are more open-minded about pursuing financial independence, retiring early (FIRE) than a lot of his peers.
That is how I first got to know BOCH. We went out for coffee one afternoon and chatted for over two hours about financial independence, work, and life in general.
