Not long after I signed up for IdeCo, a postcard was in my mailbox that said a rep from “Ivisit” had knocked on my door and had “important guidance about the National Pension system.” It wants me to call them.
A private company, they seem legit, appearing on the Nenkin Net website. Their own site says they deal with nenkin “non-payment” and other matters.
Has anyone else dealt with these people? I’m wondering if I should respond.
There are gaps from long ago when I didn’t pay Nenkin, but in the past, the office told me I can’t pay them retro-actively, apart from the 2-year grace plan (which I did). I now have about 27 years’ worth of payments, including Kosei. I am a believer in state pensions like nenkin and wouldn’t mind upping my benefits, if possible.
Should I purse this or will it spell trouble for me? Any advice or experience would be appreciated!

If you'll accept a personal opinion without any base of knowledge regarding your situation or that company...
I tend to give solicitations like this a wide berth; they've never been anything but a hassle when I've responded.

Might be worth giving the pension hotline a call just to see if there are any issues. They have screwed up people's records before, so could be good to check just in case.Zoomtokyo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 1:02 am Not long after I signed up for IdeCo, a postcard was in my mailbox that said a rep from “Ivisit” had knocked on my door and had “important guidance about the National Pension system.” It wants me to call them.

Yeah, my instincts told me at first, “no.” But then I remembered my two-year retroactive deal was done through a private contractor, not the pension office itself. The pension service is relying a lot on the private sector for its admin, it seems.
