European shares

Post by RetireJapan »

So far, I have only found Mizuho Securities offering access to shares listed on UK, German, and French exchanges. Are there any other companies offering this?

I think you can buy them through SMBC too, though the commissions are quite hefty.

Thanks! 1% + 1,000 yen or so. Hmmm.

I think most o the bigger companies can be bought as ADRs on the American stock market. It might work out a bit cheaper that way.

Does anyone know of a Europe-only ETF (on Japanese stock exchange)?

I have looked at Next funds, Ishares/blackrock, and Nikko AM websites, but can't seem to find any ETFs that are focused on Europe. Seems weird, as there are lots that focus on a specific country, such as India or Brazil or England.

I am really looking for one that is focused solely on Germany, but not sure if that exists in the Japan ETF world.

Thanks!
