Hello everyone, absolute beginner here.
Idiot I am, I never considered investing up until now. Several times throughout my life, I was about to, but then pulled out for stupid reasons and always regretted it later. For example, was about to invest in Bitcoin way back just before it skyrocketed, but decided not to on a whim. Could kick myself.
Anyway, finally want to get in on things, but don’t know where to best start in my situation.
Am European, got my degree and pretty much came to Japan right after. Therefore, (almost) no pension payments back home. Since I’ve been working as a freelancer, and never planned on staying here long-term, never joined the pension system in Japan either. Now I’m in my mid 30s and I need to start doing something.
I have saved up a comfortable nest egg already, so I wanted to start by investing the Abe money (100,000 + 1,000,000 in my case), but don’t know how.
I still don’t intend on staying here forever or retiring here (but who knows?), so I don’t know what’s the best way to start investing as I don’t know how long exactly I’ll be here. 2 years? 5 years? 10 years? Invest here in Japan? NISA? Back home? Voluntary pension payment back home? ETF?
