Internet provider
We are just about to move into a new house and need to arrange internet access. We basically want unlimited WiFi but doesn’t have to be super duper fast. Any recommendations or companies to avoid?

Avoid softbank, anything softbank.
And you probably know, but there are two aspects to "internet". One is the physical connection (the pipes), the other is your ISP (which lets you access things thru the pipes).
Hopefully, you'll have fiber right into your house. Your ISP/provider will probably rent you a small box to connect to that, and you can connect a wifi router to that. Most everything will be in japanese, but asahi net is one provider that does offer support in english.

Re: Internet provider
Thanks, it’s a new build and the builder did assure me that it was set up for internet, not sure of full details, presumably it is fibre but will check with him. My wife is Japanese so no language issues as such but that kind of thing is not her forte so I want to help her ask the right questions and get the right set up so that I don’t get annoyed...captainspoke wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 12:18 am Avoid softbank, anything softbank.
