Question about funds offered through SBI

Post by Leafs_Raps »

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. First of all, I want to say a HUGE thank you to Ben for this site and the awesome ebooks, and also a BIG thanks to all of the other contributors on this site. You have taught me a tonne!

I am in my 2nd year of NISA and Ideco and have been doing quite well in NISA, BUT not so well with Ideco. I was looking to switch up my funds for Ideco to eMAXIS Slim 先進国 and/or eMAXIS Slim 全世界株式(除く日本)but I am pretty sure that neither of them are offered through SBI for Ideco (My wife and I own them in NISA). A lot of people who are using SBI have mentioned in different threads that they have these in their Ideco portfolio, so I am wondering if I am missing something or maybe I just missed the boat and they are no longer offered. Attached is a screen shot of the eMaxis funds we can get now. I am now eyeing the "my striker" and the "my forward" funds if indeed I cannot buy the other ones. Any insight on these? Also, on the SBI site it says that these funds are scheduled to be excluded from Ideco (除外予定商品), so I guess my next question is, does anyone know what happens if the are excluded?

Thanks a lot in advance!

There are two versions of the SBI iDeCo. I am not sure why. My wife has the old one, which is not as good as the new one. You may also have it. I need to look into whether it is possible to switch at some point ;)

You can see them both on here: https://www.dcnenkin.jp/search/commission.php

The original one is the old one, and the select one is the new one.

There is a

Here is SBI's list:

https://site0.sbisec.co.jp/marble/insur ... ksearch.do?

The funds you have are part of the "original" plan, but the eMaxis slim funds are part of the "select" plan. I have the select plan, and buy both of those eMaxis funds. 🤑

Here is the information about the funds that are getting removed from the original plan:

https://site0.sbisec.co.jp/marble/multi ... m6=dc.info

Cheers everyone for your help! My wife and I have filled out and submitted the paperwork to make the switch. Apparently it'll take them 2-3 months to process it and make the change... I can believe there were 2 IDECO plans through SBI. lol
