Sharing monthly subscription costs

Post by JimNasium »

I’m not sure if these types of posts are allowed on here, so please feel free to delete it if needed Ben.

I was sharing a Netflix account with my family back in Canada, but Netflix finally cut me off because I’m in a different country. Is anyone interested in sharing the cost of a monthly subscription together? Or does anyone want to make an account together? If we get 4 people together then the cost would be like 600 yen a month for the premium plan.

I’m also interested in getting a Nintendo Switch online membership. Does anyone want to do the same thing there?

I'm sure what you suggesting is against the terms and conditions of the agreements you signed up for.

And I'm not sure this website's purpose is to find ways to 'game' the system.

This Guide to Japanese Taxes, English and Japanese Tai-Yaku 対訳, is now a little dated:

The Publisher is not planning to publish an update for '24 Tax Season.

Netflix will look at the IP, and if spread out geographically for a significant amount of time there is a good chance it will be cancelled.

I tried using a US account with a VPN to access US shows (or Japanese with English subtitles) in the past. It worked a bit, then it didn't. Netflix's detection methods have gotten better and better.

We do this. Browser refresh or disconnect/reconnect to the VPN fixes it. Not ideal, but it works for us.
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.
