Re: Argentum Pension calculator.

Entirely depends on your lifestyle, but my impression is that 3m a year would be enough for my wife and me to live a life similar to the one we have now, provided we don't travel much or spend money on family.

Pensions will provide the bulk of that (for us, maybe as much as 4m a year from 2xnenkin + UK state pension), and then some savings and investments to deal with inflation and discretionary spending.

You might be overthinking this a bit.

Thanks for that. I was worried and I might have been overthinking things way too much. Thanks for pointing that out.
This video was based on £100,000 and they were 100% in shares with a 4% drawdown 5% and 7%, and was looking back at George Osborne's pensions changes in 2015. He brings up great points including how we have Brexit, Covid and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and how that impacted people's pension pot.
This also put my mind more at ease. Although the guy at Fidelity saying the U.K. had a historical return of 10% did make me roll my eyes.
If I put my cynical hat on, I guess annuity providers, are a little, how shall I put it.......? perturbed? Since they did their "Demographics", research, naturally they need to pay out less over the person's expected life expectancy than what they originally got from the person buying an annuity. Clearly hitting their bottom line, and possible returns to investors.

@Bubblegun,

Before over worrying, maybe take a step back and approach the challenge holistically?
I loved the "An Interactive Guide to Early Retirement and Financial Independence" (https://minafi.com/interactive-guide-ea ... dependence) which guides you through all relevant points by reading an interactive article which allows you to plug in your personal numbers.
Reserve about 15-20 min of time and enjoy the dynamics playing out!
