Hi!
Does anyone know how I can retrieve my pension number? I worked full-time for Kanda Gaigo for 8 years and left 20 years ago. I only found out recently that I qualify for a small pension, via the totalisation agreement with Germany, where I'm living now, i.e. by using some of my years of work in Germany to make up the missing 2 years. I was given papers about my work in Japan to fill out and return to the German Social Security Administration but they ask for my Japanese pension number and I have no idea what it might be or how to find out.
Thanks in Advance!

Germany is the only country whose Pension Totalization Agreement with Japan allows German Nationals to continue paying Voluntary Contributions to the Japanese National Basic Pension from overseas, if you wanted to to get your benefits up. You could pay Voluntary Contributions to age 65.

Re: how to retrieve Pension Number
Some options:
It'll be in your pension handbook, which I assume you don't have.
You could contact your old employer.
You could contact the pension service - but it might be good to have a Japanese speaker on hand if you don't speak Japanese: https://www.nenkin.go.jp/international/ ... s/list.pdf
