Western foreigners retiring or retired in Japan - how many???
Really! How many of us are there? Are there any statistics on this?

Re: Western foreigners retiring or retired in Japan - how many???
I know of 6-7 local (provincial capital), and I know of a few folks who've retired from the uni I worked at long ago in tokyo. Another in Gifu, another in Hakodate, one in Osaka. (and me)
This past fall, there were some announcements for a retiree get together in west shinjuku--I'm not there and maybe someone who went can chime in with how well attended that was.
Also, maybe asking on the JapanFinance reddit sub you might hear about people who are not on RetireJapan.
There've been threads here in the past about retiree living facilities with one or another level of care.
these days it'd be nice not to have to shovel snow! ...tho from tomorrow it's supposed to be much warmer)

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but there's a So Who's Actually Retired in Japan? thread here.
