Proposals to raise the monthly cap on medical expenses

Caught this on Asaichi this morning. Seems the proposal is to raise the cap on out of pocket expenses for medical treatment by about 10% this year, and a further 20% in 2027.

I've used this system twice and thought it was a great feature of Japanese health care. Not sure how I feel about the increases.

It’s inevitable I feel. Either taxes go up or spending comes down. I think it’s good to be tied to income at least, that’s the most progressive way of doing it.
