I'm guessing you'll need to send in a paper form to change your monthly payment amount.
I'm a private school teacher, so same limits as public servants, and rakuten sent me an email about the upcoming changes, all I had to do was login and click a button and they said my contributions would increase from December. It was, surprisingly, easy ... (fingers crossed)
That's great news, thanks for letting me know!

If you still have access to that screen, could you send me a screenshot of it?

You can change your contribution amount from within the iDeCo page of your Rakuten Sec. account.
On the main page, there is a pink box with various notifications in it.
Under お知らせ there is a notification titled: ・【2024年12月制度改正】iDeCoの掛金拠出限度額が変更に
Click that and you are guided through. Took me 2 minutes to change my contributions going forward.
Cheers!

I got the same email and also clicked the button to notify them that I wanted to increase my contributions to the maximum 20,000 yen.

A confirmation message was then displayed on the screen, but there were no further procedures to specify my new monthly purchases or anything--I'm guessing that will come later...?? :?

I was looking at this again, and realized that since the quantities of the different funds purchased in IDeCo are specified as percentages of the monthly contribution, I probably don't need to do anything else and my contributions will be 20,000 yen per month from January.

Anyone know if that assumption is correct? :?:

Does anyone know how to change the amount with SBI? I went through some of the links on their website and it seems that I have to request some documents? Is there no way of doing it online like it seems like you can do with Rakuten?

I had to ring them when I did it a year or two back...

Can you guide me to how you got to that page?

With this recent announcement of possible changes I should be able to yo my iDeCo once that’s hopefully confirmed.

Currently enrolled in a matching type DC but I opted to do the ¥20,000 to iDeCo instead of matching their contribution.

Seems that will pay off, because with these changes announced yesterday I should be able to almost double my iDeCo contributions

Unless your screen shots are maybe only valid for those based on the current confirmed increase (the ¥12,000 to ¥20,000) so maybe I will have to wait until the government confirm the increase officially for those enrolled in a matching DC
