Hi everyone, I thought you might all be interested in seeing the link below where an expert has detailed changes announced in the UK budget. This is particular given the planned switch from a domicile- to a residency-based tax system.

I read the part about inheritances and transitional rules, and how they would apply to expats. I have to say it did not look so easy to understand. It could stem from issues like:
1) A problem understanding the different forms of domicile
2) Whether the domicile concept would remain for people already settled overseas, or whether they too would have the residence- based system applied.
I have to admit that for the section on transitional rules I am no longer sure whether paragraphs 1-2 or paragraph 3 apply to me (and maybe a lot of other people). Personally, I have been here over a quarter century, and have never gone back to the UK.
