QQ re bank etc supplying funds for brokerage

Post by Max »

For simplicity's sake, I decided to go with cash transfers from my Big-4 bank for my Nisa.

Q1. Are you obliged to use the (bank) account you provided when you set up the brokerage account? As dozens of options pop up when you press the 入金 button, I'm curious to know.

Q2. Is it a major pain to change the funding later on, for example using a credit card? Do you run into the dreaded middle name/ katakana problem, possible missed payments, etc?

Q3. If you want to put in 100k per month to Tsumitate, as the credit card limit seems to be 100k, other than Rakuten, can you do 50k cash and 50k credit card, from different providers?

Many thanks for all help.

1) No. You can use any of the bank accounts that are supported by your broker. You need to have internet banking set up with your bank.

2) middle name problems/mismatches are always possible.

3) Not sure I really understand the question.

It is possible to set up multiple tsumitate orders, so one paying via credit card for 50,000 and another by bank for 50,000. Does that answer the question?
(Each broker only accepts credit card payments from its preferred credit card, of course.)
