Can use PRESTIA for New Nisa payments?

Post by Max »

I am in the process of acting my SBI account for New Nisa. One of the options listed for making payments into it is SMBC. My preferred account for paying in would be PRESTIA/SMBC Shintaku, which is of course a separate bank, though part of the same group. Has anyone managed to arrange their payments via PRESTIA?

As you note, it is a separate bank.
From the SBI website you will be able to see which banks can be linked easily.
Looks like just these 3:

In general, the Prestia account is not as useful for 'everyday banking' in Japan, ie setting up automatic payments. It should not be your only bank account.
It probably makes sense to have a regular SMBC account as well. This new Olive account looks quite useful.
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.
