Why red for + and blue for -?

Post by ChapInTokyo »

Why do market boards at monex, rakuten and sbi show price increases in red, and decreases in blue? I'm so used to it being the other way round from years of using Firstrade it's going to take me a while to get used to this...(grumble)

Culturally red is associated with wealth (think otoshidama), blue with sickness, etc.

I too have trouble with this.
YouMeWeThem has a good point, but Japanese also say akaji when losing money.

I prefer Red - and Green +

The Publisher is not planning to publish an update for '23 Tax Season.

Most aps, and many brokers websites, have the option to change this.
