Selling English books

Post by shefi »

I've retired, and am getting rid of books I no longer need. I contacted Book-Off but they were not very interested and said they would only take English hardback books. I live in the Kansai area.

Any suggestions?

I gave all my books away on Craigslist - were picked up within a day or two of posting.

Selling used paperback books in Japan sounds very ambitious even for a card carrying capitalist like me.

Mercari - I've sold quite a few on there and you get much better prices than taking to Book-Off etc - typically 500 - 800 yen for a paperback novel.

Facebook groups.
Search for Sayonara sales, Mottainai or similar keywords.

Or if Ben and other members are fine with it, list them here. I would definitely be interested.

Thanks, all, for your suggestions. I tried Craigslist a while back for other items but no response. I'll try Mercari and may also list them here in case anyone interested.

Don't do FB. Is it ok with Ben and others to list them here? There's 7 hardbacks and about 50+ paperbacks. (The + means those I plan to re-read one final time before letting them go.)

One post is fine. Or a link to somewhere you are listing them.
