Thanks for all the replies everyone.

If you don't mind my asking, what prompts do you use for this?

Usually, it's something like this:

"Below is a draft for xxx (kind of relation we have with the person, for example "a contractor") regarding yyy (main topic of the e-mail). Do you see any points to improve?"

Then, I copy/paste the draft.

You may want to avoid real names in your draft, or any other real pieces of information you don't want to feed to the beast, except if you have some pro-version that (allegedly) doesn't train on your input.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Used Gemini at the cinema to give me a quick review of Dune Pt 1, storyline, characters etc. before watching the sequel. Then translated the same and passed it over to my wife to bring her up to speed. It was either that or watch Godzilla King Kong trailer.

I sometimes use it for conversation. Just to have another semi-sentient "being" to chat with. I find it has a lot of difficulty with sarcasm.

I have found some errors with its output too, so that makes me wonder about using it for anything really important.

on my team at work (i'm an engineer) no one really uses it beyond writing some unit tests. it doesn't seem to come up with very good ways to solve issues. Usually there is a lot of rewriting its code. Maybe other people have had better luck with it?

But...i am always polite and say "thank you" and "I appreciate your help". Just in case it takes over the world, hopefully it will remember that i was a decent, but odd, fellow. ;)

I'm not quite sure it's a very rational thing to do, but although I don't say 'Thank you' anymore, I keep using polite sentences, such as "Can you ...," "Please do ..." and so on.

Well. That’s a frighteningly accurate description of the apparently genuinely intelligent beings I live and work with!

As an aside. And this is true.
When presented with a particularly poor piece of written work I like to ask the author if they are familiar with the infinite monkey theorem. Then say. “This. 2 Monkeys. 3 hours.”
