Prediction: 3 months later: we're halving the points for credit card payments ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

edit: clarify this was prediction, not something they have planned

Ahh sorry just to be completely clear, I wasn't stating something they've publicly planned / said they will do this time. Just predicting based on past actions.

For example: They lowered the credit card points from 1% to 0.2% and did a huge push for Rakuten Cash (68-post thread), then put them back up to half the original value 0.5%, with a short term campaign where you could get 1% for a few months and then hopefully forget you were being short changed, negating any value of Rakuten Cash after all. Then they gave you the option to get 1% again by getting the Rakuten Premium Card, but shortly after that cut the benefits of the Premium Card considerably.

Thanks for that. Just changed my settings away from the Rakuten Cash to just credit card.

Is there any benefit to keeping 50k on credit card and 50k on Rakuten Cash? I currently have those settings, but wondering if it's better to change it to 100K Rakuten credit card just for simplicity.

Please excuse the "dummy" question, but am I right in my understanding that it has to be a Rakuten credit card, not just any credit card?

Someone should produce a reality TV show, centered on a group of people whose main connection is their focus on CC points.
