We built our house directly opposite our hoikuen, it was quite a popular and we put our second daughter in there at about six months old for a few days a week then went full time when my wife went back to work full time. It was a popular hoikuen and so I was a bit worried when my wife and kids went back to the UK for a year when they were there, and whether they would get back in. However, the encho seisei said it wouldn't be a problem- helped by my volunteer monthly English classes there.
