Can you stop iDeCo contibutions?

Hi everyone. Is there a way to completely stop contributions to iDeCo accounts? I understand that the minimum contribution is 5000 yen per month, but if something unforeseen happens such as long term unemployment, would there be a way to completely stop or pause contributions?
