So I set up my ideco a few years ago and have been watching it slowly grow ever since.
Then today I get an email from JIS&T to let me know they have just registered a new email address for me. The address is my main private email account and the one I use dealing with Rakuten. My ideco provider.
I checked and it’s not a phishing email. It’s from a proper JIS&T account.
Just wondered if anyone else got such a notification years after setting up their ideco account.. I wondered if it might be a pass through from Rakuten or something..

Excellent! Now if you also opened your ideco account in mid 2020 we can pinpoint exactly how long it’s taking them to send this notification..

Opened in January of 2018! It takes even longer for some
Re: Email from JIS&T mail service
I think this is something different and not initial email registration notification.
I don't have an iDeCo, but I have a corporate DC. (which is somewhat similar to iDeCo system)
When I logged into my nrkn (nihon record keeping, accumulated corporate DC platform for any/most providers), it prompted me to register an official email address. So, until now whenever I forgot my password or had trouble logging in, I had to request for a postcard to be sent to my address then reset my logging details. They are, apparently, asking for official email to digitize this logging detail resetting process.
Something similar must have happened to your iDeCo accounts.
