Seeking Advice on Investment Portfolio for Parents Living Abroad
Re: Seeking Advice on Investment Portfolio for Parents Living Abroad
They've been told that they don't have any front end...so I'm kind of at a loss. I can only wait until their first report comes out and see what is actually happening. Until then nothing else I can do.

They are not being transparent. Ask them simply, "How do you make your money?"
1. Load fees?
2. Commission for selling high-fee funds?
3. Maintenance fees?
4. Withdraw fees?
etc... etc....
What is the company? Do some Googling. Ask on a Portuguese forum.

Yes, there is no transparency and my parents seem to not worry and trust what they are being offered. As a matter of fact, they already enrolled in those products. Their mindset is even if we get a little, it's better than nothing. They don't know anything about investing so their full trust in in the bank.
I need to go check more about the regulations in Portugal because being told no fee and no tax is definitely hiding something (or there is something going on in Portugal that we don't know).
Anyway my original post was more about your opinion regarding the different products offered as I though they were far from being optimal, so I won't be taking anymore of your time.
Thank you very much!

You can go to Morningstar and check the fees for every instrument. The fees are set by the Fund Manager, not by the Financial Advisor selling the products.
Some recommendations would depend on how old they are, how much they have to invest, whether lump-sum, or regular saving, their time horizon, risk adversity, and so on.

Both these guys state that their primary portfolio (95% of their total, except some small experimentation portfolio funds) is 100% in the Vanguard Global Equity Index Fund...
