SBI Shinsei Bank, Ltd - Information on Tender Offer

Post by Block »

Hello,

I'm with SBI Neobank and have a SBI securties account. I noticed this

SBI Shinsei Bank, Ltd - Information on Tender Offer Procedures for Common Shares

Is this something worth investing in and what is the minimum number of shares I should consider to get a decent return?

Are you referring to Shinsei Net shares? They IPOd early this year.

I would consider it a poor investment.

Thank you for your reply TokyoBoglehead.

Out of interest, why do you consider it a bad investment?

🤔 Why would you consider it a good investment?

Do you want to own a NetBank stock? There are a lot to choose from. It's a bit of a crowded market space.

The stock price is pretty inflated post-ipo, and the shareholders are still mostly locked up and cannot sell. Also all TYO stocks are riding a bit of a bull market. This....is not ideal.

If you want to buy this stock why not buy post lockup as everyone unloads their shares?

Please remember I am just a random person on the internet. You should not necessarily take financial advice from me.

Also, if you are inquiring about specific company stock in this manner it is probably a better idea for you to stick with a simple, cheap, global index fund.

That is how I personally invest.
