Interesting to consider that Joe Dominguez, the co-author for the "Your Money or Your Life" book that is an early guide to the FIRE movement, retired at age 38 after saving just $70,000 which I believe he largely kept invested in US Treasury securities. He retired in the mid-1970's in the midst of high inflation years, did not have a family to support, and I guess must have supplemented his savings with revenues from his successful book before dying at a young age 58. Seems like these more recent FIRE enthusiasts are not made of as stern a stuff as those early founders.

Sam Dogan is a multi-millionaire, and is likely just doing this to get back in the news and sell more copies of his book ;)

The whole article sounds like it was put together by some young journalist who has no idea what they are writing about...

One of the comments says that he has $200k/yr in passive income, and that the 'problem' is that he is still living in the bay area.

Didn't read them all but liked this one:

Anyone retiring at 34 thinking we won't have serious down periods in the stock market isn't smart enough to retire.

:D
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.
