Alternatives for Zaim finance app?

Post by solo7100 »

Been using Zaim premium for years. So far so good. I’ve tried Moneytree since it’s English based. All others that can connect to local banks, digital wallets, points, etc are all Japanese based.

Anyone know of an app out there like Zaim, but not Zaim?

Thanks,

Moneyforward is the gold standard. You'll need to pay for full access though.

Also, unless I'm being really dim and not seeing the option to change languages, you'll have to be fairly fluent in Japanese.

I use the paid-version of MoneyForward because it's downright unusable for the free version (only 5 accounts which defeats the entire purpose). It's Japanese only so you'd have to google translate your way through the menus (which I'm not sure is worth it). It's fairly robust and some of its integrations is really good but I can't really recommend it over a good spreadsheet. Its great for people like me who are lazy but then again, if you're lazy why are you even using one of these budgeting apps.

Yea, hence my question. My Japanese leaves much to be desired…

Thanks for the recommendations though,

As does mine, but Google Translate works fine. Just like with brokerages.

We use Moneytree (Free) for a quick overview -> CCs + bank accounts
We use Moneyforward (paid) for a total overview-> All assets

Has Moneyforward fixed it's UI at all in recent years? When I last tried using it, it was another shining gem in Japan's hostile UIX crown.

Well depends what your complaints are but I find it perfectly acceptable.

Yeap, I'm trying Moneyforward on Google Chrome now. It's slow going, but I wish their app was English like Zaim.
