Hi,
I was wondering if anyone on the forum has experience doing e-tax using My Number and electronic card reader. I heard that separate documents do not need to be submitted if doing e-tax. But in this case how does one submit proof of dividend withholding, dependent deduction etc. I am hoping to try this out for the first time this year and thinking about hints or pitfalls that one should be aware of.
Thanks!

Re: e-tax filing
I haven't done an e-tax filing yet, but did talk about doing it with a fellow in the tax office. I'm not sure how it works, or how it's addressed, or how it gets connected to the actual tax return, but he clearly said that ("of course") you mail it to them (in my case it would be brokerage statements, a couple simple excel sheets summarizing my conversions into yen for interest, dividends, etc.). And if you're claiming over ¥100k for medical bills, the actual bills plus a sheet that summarizes & totals them all.kizuki wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 10:04 am Hi,

I'd really like to do it online, and so I hope this thread gains some traction.
