Just got an email from Monex, asking me to submit a copy of my zairyu card again
I swear this is about the fourth time they have done this. It's starting to get on my nerves. I don't remember Rakuten ever doing this (apart from the original application).
How are the other brokers on the annoying pointless paperwork scale?
I'm seriously considering withdrawing all my money and just leaving 1 yen in my Monex account...

Rakuten is leaving me alone. I have to renew in autumn, so maybe they'll ask then?

Haven’t heard a word from Rakuten in years. My wife did have to submit it once for SBI in 4 years.
Re: Brokers asking for zairyu card copies over and over again
I got a letter from 松井証券 a few weeks ago asking for a copy of zairyu card again.
They even followed up with a phone call asking me to return the filled in form with zairyu copy before end of August.
I think my glue stick is only used for these zairyu copy requests...

Rakuten and Monex. No requests yet...
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.

This has a discriminatory feel to it, but look on the bright side…it likely helps to protect you from theft.
