Changing to Private School Mutual Aid System

Post by Tokyo Money »

Hello,

I currently work part-time at various universities. Up to now I have been paying kokumin nenkin and also the maximum allowable for iDeCo. However, from September I will be joining the Private School Mutual Aid System 私学共済制度. I understand I will be able to make much lower iDeCo contributions.

Can anyone advise my how to tell iDeCo of my upcoming change? What steps do I need to take? My Japanese reading ability is not great, so really basic steps would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

You will need to fill in a form informing your broker (and through them JS&T) about the changes. I presume it is available on the Monex website.

This can take.... some time.

I sent my forms to Rakuten in April, and they still haven't processed the changes (I changed from kyosai to kokumin nenkin, from employer salary deduction to bank account though).
