British accountant recommendation

Post by Wales4rugbyWC23 »

Sorry cutting and pasting from my post on British expats group on Facebook. Looking for recommendations for a British accountant who can deal with annual HMRC tax returns related to house rentals and also capital gains tax liabilities with inherited assets.

sorry if this doesn't help, and I'm sure you have, but have you done the self assessment stuff online with HMRC? I found it pretty straight forward. I'm sure you have

Yes I have done it for the last 10 years, but HMRC are asking expats to either use special software or an accountant. You are right, it was very straight forward. I wish they had kept it that way!!!

Thanks for that. I see one of the accountants is specialising in expat rentals. What kinds of services do they offer?

your welcome
For my case I provide them the rent statements and they complete the tax return and file it for me.
They provide me a document detailing income/expenses for the year, and they reduce my taxes as much as possible legally of course

What sort of price does he charge for that? It is just that I have been doing that for the last 10 years by myself. It is only because HMRC are asking you to use special accounting software or use an accountant that I am thinking of it.
