I'm pretty sure a few other members here also have this fund in their portfolio, and so presumable received the documents to vote approve or disprove the planned changes to the fund terms and conditions. A four-page document titled:
「上場インデックスファンド海外新興国株式(MSCIエマージング)」約款変更(予定)のお知らせ
with a voting reply postcard enclosed. I've read though them--twice now, and... nope, no idea what it means.
I understand the stuff about the voting procedures--that if I don't "disprove" of the proposed changes, then I needn't return the voting card, but I can't understand what the actual changes are or what they imply.
Anyone else in the same boat? Anyone understand what the actual changes mean?

Yes, you have just reminded me that I got this in the post too. I tried to read it then asked my wife to translate it but she didn't understand it either! It would be good to know what it means.

Well, I think we are past the voting deadline now, so lets just hope that whatever is happening its going to be a change for the better. The good old "ostrich" approach.TokyoTower wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 3:06 am Yes, you have just reminded me that I got this in the post too. Re: Changes to the 1681 Emerging Countries fund?
i have been overseas for the last 6 weeks and returned to find similar letters addressed to me, concerning 1554. All I can decipher is that they will shift from being based on indices, to buying the actual stock on which the indices are based on, seemingly for the purpose of becoming applicable forつみたてNISA. I haven't enough investment knowledge to know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, (other than if it becomes applicable to a new audience it may increase in value?) so in the absence of any sage advice I'm going to blindly assume it will be fine.
