Hi,
My wife and I are setting up an iDeCo account for her and having some trouble figuring out her contribution amount.
She has 100% ownership of a KK (株式会社) from which she takes a salary and also pays into the kousei nenkin.
When we filled out the standard forms on Rakuten to set things up, it defaulted to:
Category 2
Company employees whose companies do not have a corporate pension plan
¥23,000/month (¥276,000/year)
However, since she owns the company and is thus paying herself the salary, I was under the impression that she would be:
Category 1
¥68,000/month (¥816,000/year)
Does anyone have a clear solid answer to this one?
Thanks in advance!

Re: iDeCo Contribution Amount for KK Owners
iDeCo contribution limits are based solely on what kind of nenkin you pay, which is why all the talk on government and provider websites about job types is needlessly confusing.
If your wife pays into kousei nenkin, her contribution limit is 23,000 yen a month.
If your wife pays into kousei nenkin, her contribution limit is 23,000 yen a month.
