Hello
Is it possible to transfer USD from a US bank directly into an SBI Net USD account? Any other ways of getting USD paid directly into a Japanese bank account without converting it to JPY first? Thank you.

You can send it to Shinsei as long as you have a USD sub account with them. I believe Sony Bank too. There must be others.

Adamu is right.
My wife called SBI with this question, and they said it is possible once you have a NEObank account.
You can also receive foreign currency at Prestia (or any other major bank I suspect) f you have a multimoney account.
