After the last couple of years of stock market madness, what is your (family's) current net worth?

Pandemic level would be longer (since life is cheaper).

So how long is the pandemic gonna last...? :)

It also depends on the options I go for on the new Panamera...

  1. To the two of you (so far) who responded "26-35 years of spending": Wow. Well done.
  2. This thread has made me realise that I don't even know how to calculate my net worth.

Well done indeed.
I'm still in the "less than one year" category

Oh, it's pretty simple. Just add up all your cash and investments, subtract any debt, and that's your net worth. Some people add in the value of their cars and other posessions, but I don't bother. I assume my manshon is worth at least the remainder of the mortgage, so just cancel those out.

Calculating annual spending is a bit trickier, I'm actually writing a blog post about that topic at the moment (which might have inspired me to make this poll). It's pretty fuzzy and open to interpretation, which is fine. It is a self-reported anonymous poll, after all ;)

Thanks for that. Vote changed.
In the meantime, someone has voted for "51+ years of spending." How does...? I don't even...

I went with 6-10 years.

But this is would require a 30% reduction in spending, which would be pretty logical if we were laid off.

Spending during retirement and spending with young children are not comparable.

It's pretty impressive. I hope to get there someday, but it would require the current stock market bull run to continue for... quite a bit longer ;)
