Nenmatsu Chosei (Year-end adjustment)

Post by zeroshiki »

I got the nenmatsu chosei announcement for my company this year. As always, I'm receiving it and then sending it back completely blank (no dependents, insurance deduction nor home loan). How did it go for everyone else? :D

I quit my job so have the added fun of trying to get them to do it for an ex-employee :P

Although I might switch to tax returns next year. May even do it this year.

Thinking I want to take more advantage of Furuzato Nozei, medical deductions, and claiming back foreign dividend tax. Also if I do anything with crypto, need to do a tax return anyway.

One of the 4 universities I teach at claims they are sending one to all part-time teachers.

I do not think that this has happened in the past, as I file my own tax return.

No form has since materialized. A mistake on their part perhaps?

Just sending it back completely blank (except for the name and address  ).
The only difference is that this year my company doesn't require us to use the hanko, so I can simply download the forms online, fill the name and address, and send it by e-mail.

After taking out a home loan and building a new house, I've got to file my taxes myself this year to get the tax break for the loan, next year it should be back to filling out a form easy levels.

Good to see this topic! Quick question (I hope). I've been working full-time in Japan for many years - only one job - so never had to do much for the nenmatsu chousei except stamp and submit it each year. No dependents or special insurance.

This year, I started an additional part-time (also university) job in October, so I will add that income to the nenmatsu chousei at my f/t uni (seems the p/t uni doesn't take deductions or very minimal).

Any tips on what I'll need to do next? Sounds like for sure I'll need to visit the tax office in February with my R3 (2021) income statements. Does that mean the national tax office? What about municipal/resident taxes? I don't mind paying a tax bill(s) next year, but would prefer to overpay a bit and want to be sure not to make any "late payments".

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hello all

I am newly registered here because I have a question to post.

Background info to my question:

I am employed by one company only and, this year, for the first time, the company is asking us to send our details for the year-end adjustment electronically.

There is a question on the form which concerns me about 'Other income'. I receive about ¥1m in dividends per year from Japanese stocks and, because I am using a special account at the only broker I use, my broker keeps 20.315% of the dividends and pays it in tax. So far (for many years back) I have done nothing about this because I understood that that was the deal with special accounts. They pay and I do not need to file or mention it to the tax office.

My question :

Should I write down the ¥1m? or leave it blank? If I write down the ¥1m, will The System (my company's HR and the NTA) understand that I do not need to pay tax on this money again?

I appreciate in advance any advice I receive here. If I don't get an opinion here would the administrator mind if I re-post this comment in another more noticeable forum thread?

I believe you do not need to declare dividend income from a 特定口座 that has already been taxed at source. I never have!

Anyone else?
