Day trading in japan
Day trading in japan
Hi guys is there anyone does day trading here in japan? What are your thoughts?
Re: Day trading in japan
I'm sure all of us have dabbled in day trading (I still do from time to time) and I feel like its an important thing to get out of your system once you're starting out. I started recently too so I understand the allure of day trading. Once you get your losses on a downturn (like the one we're in now) you will quickly realize that you're not as smart as you think you are and unless you have alot of time to spend going through financial statements and stuff, you're most likely not going to beat the market.

As there is no "day-trader" visa you would need to do it under a PR or Spousal visa.
Very few people manage to beat the index over time, and margins are a bit thinner on the TSE, and trading hours are much shorter. You could turn your life upside down and work NYSE hours.
That being said there are lots of people that have their retirement savings in safe investments, but trade 5-10% of their net wealth "for-fun" in an often fruitless attempt to beat the index. However, the vast majority is making a quick trade or two at lunch* or on the toilet, not day-trading.
*and remember the TSE actually has a "lunch break" from 11:30-12:30, so many cannot even do that.
