Travel deals websites

Post by JimNasium »

I know sometimes there are really good deals on travel in Japan, but I have no idea how to find them. Does anyone know any websites that list them?

Not sure about an aggregator site but I have used these:

Jalan
Rakuten Travel
Yahoo Travel

Booking.com often has less availability than the Japanese sites for hotels here.
Jalan would be my first suggestion for packaged deals, I think. JR and JAL and ANA all sometimes have good deals on travel + hotel as well. Jetstar's prices from Narita are really low if they have a flight to your location.

The best deals tend to be hotel+shink/flight type deals through a travel agency, when they are discounting to get rid of them. You need to sign up for their newsletters, etc.

It seems counterintuitive but "tours" are usually great deals. Its flight/shinkansen/whatever + hotel all in one and they usually give good deals. Its usually way cheaper than booking them separately yourself.

You can use any site you want but aggregators like travelko do a good job of covering the big and small sites that offer them.

AirBnB can be great if you need more space and/or staying an extended period of time.
