So Emaxis Slim All Country seems like the best option, which means that I have to go with Monex. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yep. Three ETFs actually. I wrote up a summary here:

https://retirewiki.jp/wiki/Japanese_global_index_funds

But I started iDeCo before I knew that, so I'm personally with SBI and split between emaxis slim developed / emerging / Japan. It I was starting again I'd probably go with Monex too.

Tawara have a global index fund too if you want to add it to the list. http://www.am-one.co.jp/fund/summary/313161/

Nice, thanks. Another MSCI ACWI fund. Will check it out and add it later (although we have a few editors now, happy for someone to beat me to it!).

Added! It looks very similar to eMaxis-Slim All Country. Same as MUFG, they track the MSCI ACWI index via three mother funds (Developed, Emerging, Japan), and like MUFG but unlike SBI and Rakuten, they manage those funds themselves rather than wrapping up US ETFs.

Tawara funds are often the best choice available at traditional institutions (banks, or physical brokers).

When my wife set up her iDeco at Mizuho Tawara funds were the only foreign funds that were not a huge rip-off.

Rakuten use Tawara funds for their iDeco too, so maybe they'll make the global fund available there too...

Seems unlikely. The only global fund in Rakuten's iDeCo is Rakuten's global fund, and the only global fund in SBI's iDeCo is SBI's global fund. I doubt it's accidental.
