Hi there,
I am interested in starting an iDeco account and get serious about retirement savings.
My wife and I have a incorporated company so want to look into alternatives. If our company can pay us directly into a similar retirement scheme we can save a lot on taxes. Of course we have nenkin payments set up already but not relying on this.
Does anyone know of such options? I wonder what accounts other companies in Japan pay into for their employees.
Warm regards,

Re: Alternatives to iDeco
Thank you for the reply and link.
Is it possible for my company to pay into iDeco first for me? As a company expense? Part of pre tax income?
Or is iDeco for individuals to pay after salary is paid?
The article in the link recommends maxing out iDeco first.
And then some payments into the small business savings plan?

iDeCo saves on the individual's taxes, not the company's. Companies can pay it and recalculate income taxes due, or individuals can pay it and put it through on their annual tax return. Same end result.Dr.Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 1:50 am Thank you for the reply and link.

iDeCo can be better as it allows you to invest. The small business thing is cash only.
