My experience is only with Mizuho.
It is not cheap. There is a 3,000 yen per month or so charge just for the privilege of having a business account with them.
There is no Internet Explorer requirement. I use Firefox and Chrome with no issues.
I can download csv files of transactions regularly.
Some of the internet-only banks may be easier to use. But banking with a mega-bank brings a certain cache here, which may be important in some industries/with some customers.
Business Bank Account

Re: Business Bank Account
I have to take back (a little bit) of my critic. My company is still stuck on the 旧みずほ銀行 Portal, but we are waiting for the OTP Tokens so we can start using other browsers (and go away from those annoying certificates). That being said, on the top of being expensive, things like a 7am to 10 pm usag elimit etc remain. But as you say, many customers in more traditional industris prefer to remitt to one of the three mega banks. And changing an account on our side, would also give a lot of paperwork from our customers, so we are stuck with it.beanhead wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:35 pm My experience is only with Mizuho.

Hm, ¥3,000/month… Sure if your business is large enough and it adds panache. I guess I'm still a Japan Gaijin newbie who's not used to paying for banking services, let alone for holding an account. If I may, do you have a debit or credit card with them? Can you download monthly statements in PDF format?beanhead wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:35 pm My experience is only with Mizuho.

Re: Business Bank Account
For corporate banking services, it is still common to pay for them, I believe. Even Yucho charges, I think.glimmer wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:52 pm

Yes, this includes a Visa debit card. I also have a company credit card with Orico which was offered via Mizuho. So it is not a Mizuho-supplied card but it is a corporate gold card which we could get by virtue of having the prized (!) Mizuho account.
Statements in pdf format. I think so, but I am not 100% sure. I have a feeling that I was supposed to update the 'pdf password' and didn't so I do not receive it now. I can make any report I want to on the portal and export in csv so I don't have a requirement for a pdf version.
