Because the exchange rate varies too.Viralriver wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:45 pm Does anyone have any idea why my profit is positive in USD, but negative in JPY?

I matched against the exchange rates that were listed there, and it didn't match up either. I wonder if there's some sort of buffer on it whilst the market is open.

I see Robinhood have unlocked buying of the shares so hoping we get a recovery Friday US time. BB took a beating while I slept but I plan to hodl anyway.
Re: Gamestop Discussion
Well, that was a turn of events I did not expect
Robinhood says they will only allow limit, and not market buys tomorrow.
I can not believe IBKR did this:

Very shocking.

While I stay outside of the current hype, the actions of various brokers also puzzle me a little bit. While I have some understanding, that companies regulate their requirements for margins and limit stuff like options etc (stuff I wouldnt touch - and imo nobody should), how easily they stopped buying and selling normal shares astonishes me. This will for sure continue to heat up the feeling of "us the people" vs "the establishments".

Yep, this messed me up yesterday. Was trying to place an order for the insanely massive dip yesterday. They got as far as Japan, and I honestly didn't expect that.

If I remember it correctly, Rakuten and SBI use Interactive Brokers for their foreign access, so if IB stops, they also have to follow this.

Ahh, that makes sense!
Wondering if anyone understands what I'm seeing here. I setup a sale order at $490 for GME, and it hit $492 but still didn't sell. My sale order page now lists them as 執行待ち(繰越)which wasn't there before either. It only hit 492 very briefly, did it need a bigger window for Rakuten to sell? Or is there something else I missed?

Limit orders with this much volatility don't always fill.
Market orders always have priority in this sort of environment I believe.
Once your order was finally queued up there may have been no buyer on the other end.

Got it - thanks for the explanation! I thought I was pretty lucky with the 490 guess, but also assumed I'd need it to sit up there for a bit to cash out haha. Oh well, always tonight.
