Trading USA Stock Options with NISA
Trading USA Stock Options with NISA
Hello, I have been trading US Stock options and hedge fund and doing well. Just move to Japan and become a japan resident. I am wondering if anyone here know if you can trade US stock options and index credit spread with NISA? Thank you for your help.

Are you American? It matters for investing in Japan.
US options are not available with Japanese brokers, only Japanese Options. You need to apply separately for this.
If you want US options you will need to set up an account with Interactive Brokers (IBKR) an "international" brokerage firm.

Are there any "international" brokerage firms that you'd recommend? (I am a Canadian in Japan if that matters)Kanto wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 2:43 pmAre you American? It matters for investing in Japan.

Was really hoping I could purchase call options through Rakuten 証券 but I haven't been able to find that option. Stumbled upon your comment which answered everything for me.

Interactive Brokers (IBKR) - They are a world-class broker, however, they are not a free broker. Be prepared to pay all associated fees and prepare your own taxes.
IBKR is what most Canadian use for U.S futures as well.
Please be careful with futures.
