Personal Finance books in japanese

Hi guys,

What is the Japanese equivalent of "millionaire teacher" or "financial samurai"?
My Japanese friend is just starting on personal finance and investing but I do not know what the books of reference in Japanese are.

Re: I'm trying to open an SMBC bank account, so I can use it together with SBI tsumitate NISA.

I actually "upgraded" to Olive. For me it's pretty convenient but I might not have everybody's requirements. I have a sole proprietorship (Kojinjigyo) Before: - Personal account SBI (Neobank) - IDECO/NISA/Investment account SBI - Credit card Platinum NL SMBC (¥33,000/year, 5%points on inve...

Re: What are you doing about your electricity bills???!!!

The best you can do as an individual is sign up with the former utility of your area (TEPCO, in your case) The price they charge households is regulated by the government and cannot be increased without its blessing. Other providers are free to do as they want. I would refrain from signing a contrac...

Re: Length of mortgage: philosophy

I took the maximum length (35 years) I could and no insurance. I am not repaying early but this could be an option in the future. I would have been fine with a 15 years loan or even shorter but I wanted the freedom to decide what to do with my money and not be pressured to keep a high paying job for...

Re: Sell or rent?

This will be a funky one to run the numbers on. You will not be a Japan tax resident anymore so the tax part of the equation cannot be covered by your standard real estate agent in Japan. Being away you will also have to pay an agency to manage the property on your behalf. I would go to one of the b...

Re: Watches - Is the idea of investing in them crazy?

I love mechanical watches. I bought a rolex sumariner 10 years ago and sold it last year when I realized its price on the secondary market. That made me worried of wearing and breaking it. I like to wear my watches. They are a hobby, and they cost money, including the maintenance. But there is no re...

Re: My Number 20,000 yen of points campaign

I applied for the 15,000 point on June 30th I believe and got the points (on PayPay) 3 days later.
I had already registered My number card for both healthcare and bank account months ago.

Re: Retirement age and assets at retirement

He writes that he spend ¥35,000 in June to live. That’s ¥420,000 a year or a 4.2% withdrawal tax rate (after taxes) from his ¥10,000,000. Not sure what he does about paying Nenkin (¥16,000) a month. And he benefits from free healthcare I suppose. So not too far from what we preach here, you just hav...
