Re: Simple Q&A - iDeCo

I wonder also have this works when on medical leave? I will be taking some time off work shortly under such conditions, but I’m not sure if I need to get the iDeCo application in before that starts, or what impact medical leave has? The key point is what your pension status is. As long as you remai...

Re: Japan Post NISA

Do you think it's better to switch to a different provider? I've heard from a mate that it can take months. Re: Japan Post NISA

This the the best option at Japan Post, it's basically a custom branded version of eMaxis Slim All Country. Exactly the same as what you'd get with a better provider, just more expensive. https://qw159.qhit.net/jp-bank.japanpost.jp/qsearch.exe?F=tp/fundDetail&code=03316203 See also https://retir...

Re: UK Pension & Voluntary Payments Questions

I am unclear why I need to call them if they have already calculated and the NICs shortfall amounts I need to pay... I don't know if giving up citizenship may make you more likely to be flagged when entering the US?

Re: Rakuten brokerage: Difference between delivery price and amount withdrawing from my account

The value is the estimated price, and you've placed a market order. So they're taking an extra buffer from the account in case the price rises by the time the order is fulfilled. I'm not sure if they will return the excess or leave it in your securities account, but you'll pay the price that the ord...

https://libro.fm is pretty good. They have an app but also allow you to download the raw audio files.

Personally, I very much appreciate the summary. It should be a law ;) that every maker of such videos should have to post a stickied (AI-generated) comment that summarizes their content. It should also be rule that anyone starting a discussion about any content must also provide their own non-AI su...

Re: NISA and gift tax

If you Gift a total of Y3,923,000 ... The Gift Tax works out to be Y323,450 ... This leaves Y3,599,550 for NISA I have not checked the numbers, but if correct my take is that you would be looking to make much more than this in tax savings long term (assuming the investments work out...) so it's wor...
