It's very easy to buy if you have a Prestia account. Especially if you already have US$ in a US$ account. Though converting yen to $ is less painful than it has been recently.

I think that US citizens cannot open accounts at Japanese brokers. That's the case, right? So I think that Rakuten, SBI and Money are probably not available to me. The rate for a one-year time deposit in USD has recently gone up to 4.5% at Prestia. They withhold tax so after tax it's 3.58%.
