Re: NISA at 47 years of age

For what it's worth, I am 48 and I just started investing this year as well. In fact, my list isn't too far off from yours but with one little change. SP500 60% All World 20% Topix 20% The reason I chose a domestic Japanese fund is that I'm bullish on Japan in the future. Otherwise, pretty much the ...

Re: Strategy for the 2025 NISA

My apologies. My goal was not to bring politics into the discussion, but certainly the possibility must be entertained, and it’s hard to separate politics and the market, regardless of opinion. I’m seriously worried about it, and it’s caused me to considering pausing my investments into 2025 until I...

Re: Strategy for the 2025 NISA

Since the request for comment went out, I'll gladly respond. My plans for 2025 are pretty much the same as 2024. As I am an American we are doing this through my wife's account. We put put 20% into a Topix fund, 20% into an all world fund and 60% in the ol' S&p500. I plan on doing this until I r...

Re: Market Fluctuations

Thanks everyone. That actually does make me feel a lot better. I think going forward, I will continue my strategy. I'm currently invested in three funds, an SP500, a TOPIX fund and a world fund and I will just tsumitate it until I see an opportunity to add some lump sum. My goal is to max this thing...

Re: Quick question about Tsumitate Statment

Thank you for explaining that. I thought it might be related to that but I wasn't 100% sure! Excellent!

Market Fluctuations

Hi everyone. Just another quick question here: My wife and I joined NISA early in 2024 during the highest point in the TOPIX and SP500 indexes ever. I know dollar cost averaging is supposed to insolate you from the ups and downs, but the markets seems to turning the other way now, and part of me is ...

Quick question about Tsumitate Statment

Hi everyone. I'll make this my self introduction as well. Nice to meet you all. I'm a US expat living in Northern Japan and I'm in my late forties. I'm late to the game but my wife and I are finally getting going on investing. We've got an account going through her and we've picked three nice funds ...
