Re: UK tax return advice / experiences
Hi there, My stockbrokers told me a couple of years ago that non-residing Britons couldn't hold unit trusts in the UK any longer, which was rather annoying to say the least. I have no experience with declaring dividend income on a UK tax return, but I have done a UK tax return for rental income for...

UK tax return advice / experiences
Dear members, I hope you are all well. I would like advice / to know about the experiences of people who have been in a similar position to me. I updated my address with my UK stock broker earlier this year and have just received a tax certificate from them along with information that I have to comp...

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
My photo had a white background.

Re: UK driving licence
Can I jump into this post and ask how long an international licence takes to be issued? Is it same day? And is a travel ticket really necessary, or can a current Japanese licence (plus UK green pink paper licence, if needed), and UK passport, be sufficient? Sorry to bring the thread into a darker p...

Re: UK driving licence
Took a look at the Japanese DVLA website to find out about getting an international licence for when I am back in the UK, and it states that I have to hand in my old licence when applying. No idea why they would need it, and I'm not that keen on the idea of handing it over. I'll add an update after ...

UK driving licence
Dear members, I hope you are all well. I am interested to hear from other members who occasionally drive in the UK. I am a permanent resident in Japan but sometimes drive in the UK when visiting family and friends. Up until now I have just carried my old green paper licence with my old address on it...

Declaring dividends received outside Japan
Dear members, I hope you are well. I need to declare dividends received on stocks held with a UK-based broker when I do my taxes in Japan this year. Does anyone know how I can do this? Also, what would be the accepted/best way to convert the amounts from GBP to yen? Should I go back and look at the ...
