Re: Rakuten brokerage: Difference between delivery price and amount withdrawing from my account
Thank you! That makes sense. It’s strange that it didn’t display like this before… or I didn’t notice it… (usually pay attention to numbers though)

Rakuten brokerage: Difference between delivery price and amount withdrawing from my account
I have used my Rakuten brokerage account to buy plenty of stocks in the past without there being a difference between the delivery price of the stock and the amount withdrawn from my account. However, recently, I noticed a pretty big discrepancy (check the attached photo). I've been searching my acc...

Furusato nozei using Amazon
Has anybody tried the Amazon furusato portal yet? Was looking at it today and seems to be very easy to understand (especially since they have everything translated to English!
). I’ll probably give it a try soon since I’m still under my yearly limit. I’ll report back if/when I use it!

Re: IDeCo changes December 2024
Can anyone confirm that their contribution will increase this month? I did the paperwork to increase from 12,000 to 20,000 in my Rakuten brokerage account but can’t see anywhere in my account that the limit has risen.

Individual stock dividends paid from NISA
I'm sure this has been asked before and I did a search but couldn't find the information...
If you hold company stocks in your NISA account and receive dividends payout, are they taxed?

Re: RRSP: cash-out and move it to Japan?
An important caveat, the parent must be a first-generation Canadian for this to be true. Applying for Canadian citizenship certificates and passports is very worthwhile as it will give your children more options in the future. Right. Which I why I mentioned being born in Canada. I agree that it is ...

Re: RRSP: cash-out and move it to Japan?
Just a heads up, your children don't need to be 'registered' to be considered Canadian citizens legally. If you were born in Canada (and haven't renounced your citizenship), your children automatically are Canadian citizens regardless of where they are born. It doesn't matter if you have gone throug...

Re: Transfering money from a Rakuten minor account to another Rakuten account
I may have figured it out... it seems that you can only do it by designating a withdrawal account. So I've set up the withdrawal account and gone through the procedure now. Seems like it will take a couple of days... wasn't expecting it to be so complicated...

Re: Transfering money from a Rakuten minor account to another Rakuten account
Sorry, I'm dumb. It's Rakuten証券, not Rakuten銀行... so transferring money out of my children's Rakuten Securities account, not bank account.

Re: Transfering money from a Rakuten minor account to another Rakuten account
Thanks for the reply. I set up a minor's account in Rakuten for my children but I still control it. I understand about the gift tax, it's not a problem. The problem I'm having is that I don't know the procedure for transferring money from one Rakuten account to another. I'm unfamiliar with the websi...
