Re: IB vs Japanese broker for non NISA, taxation
Actually Interactive Brokers Australia offers the Japanese ETFs so I wouldn't need to sell, can just move them across to IB Australia without selling. How do you check whether a given product is available in a country-specific IB ? In my case, I am interested in availability in European IB (France,...

Re: tsumitate nisa, bonus and SBI website
Thank you, your instructions helped me fixing the issue.
I had by mistake 2 recurring payments, one for the "normal" NISA (成長投資枠) and one for the つみたて。I wrongly assumed that recurring payments automatically implied つみたて. But I set the bonus on the normal one, hence the issue.

Right, but in this case you would still need to sell the case you move countries, and pay the underlying tax. The whole point for me of IB was to invest in funds I don't need to sell if I leave Japan.

Hi there, I have a new NISA on SBI, but can not figure out how to buy a bonus. I thought I did but then the money ended up in the 成長投資枠 part  I'd like to put say 600k JPY worth of emaxi slim now on tsumitate. Are there some instructions I could follow on the exact procedure for somebody like m...

Re: IB vs Japanese broker for non NISA, taxation
Just to confirm I don't believe VNG80A or VWCE are available under IB, the options are limited for products outside Japan and US on the Japanese version of Interactive Brokers. You're unfortunately right. I made the mistake of assuming that because I could find it in IB, it was available to me. Tha...

IB vs Japanese broker for non NISA, taxation
Hi there, I am now in Japan for 5+ years, EUR country citizen. I intend to stay in Japan for the foreseeable future (5+ years), but unlikely to retire in Japan (15-20+ years). I am wondering about the pros/cons of interactive broker vs SBI for money invested beyond NISA My situation: I intend to max...
